Ruth Miller was taught to sew, embroider and crochet as a young child. As a teenager she attended The High School of Music and Art and The Cooper Union School of Fine Art. She picked up wire-strung beading on her own. As an adult, she studied leather-working, shoemaking and bag making at The Fashion Institute of Technology. She now concentrates on creating large-format hand-embroidered portraits. While here on the Coast, Ruth plans to enjoy learning as many arts and crafts as possible.
