I am a just a dirty hairy potter the piney woods of south Mississippi. Now that is out of the way down to the nitty gritty.
I earned a BFA in Sculpture form the University of Southern Mississsipp and also a Masters of Education. I put both of those degrees to work showing high school students the wonders of art.
My work is exploration of body imagery and society's views of what is beauty, of how what people see of us becomes us. The objectification of the person by my he anonymous viewer.
I push the form of my functional ware to play with the concepts found in my sculptural works. In doing so it creates pieces that are not just pretty in the eye but in the hand and in its successful completion of its designated task.
